Speed controller

To control the speed of variable speed AC motors, electronic speed controllers are used. Several motors can also be connected to these up to the rated load capacity of the speed controller.

The technical principle of phase angle control, on which speed controllers are based, can cause a sometimes disturbing humming noise in the lower speed range. In noise-sensitive areas (e.g. bedrooms), therefore, use step transformers to control fans.
