SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR RADIANT HEATERS WITH FIXED CONNECTION IP5X

  • This appliance is intended solely for the purpose of heating people by means of radiant heat and maintaining this heat.
  • The radiant heater is designed for outdoor use only.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children under 3 years of age must not be left unsupervised near the radiant heater.
  • Children between the ages of 3 and 8 must not operate, clean or maintain the appliance.
  • Children must never be allowed to play with the appliance.
  • Dispose of the packaging material out of the reach of children. There is a risk of suffocation, e.g. if swallowed!
  • Check the mains cable and the appliance for damage before each use.
  • If the mains cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service or a similarly qualified person.
  • Do not use the appliance in small rooms that are used by people who cannot leave these rooms independently.
  • The radiant heater must not be used in potentially explosive atmospheres or in rooms in which flammable gases can occur or enter.
  • The radiant heater may only be mounted horizontally and only with the original mounting accessories.
  • A two-pole switch with a contact width of at least 3 mm must be connected upstream of the radiant heater.
  • The distance to the ceiling must be 40 cm and 60 cm to the side of the wall or objects. The heater must have at least 1.5 m of free space to the front.
  • The heater must be installed at a minimum height of 1.8 m.
  • The heater must not be directed towards the ceiling or towards flammable objects.
  • The appliance must not be operated directly below or in front of a socket outlet.
  • Before switching on the radiant heater, make sure that there are no objects, curtains, flammable material, etc. in the vicinity that could catch fire.
  • The heater becomes very hot during operation. Ensure that the connection cable cannot touch the radiant heater or hang in the radiation area.
  • The voltage specification on the rating plate must match the local mains voltage.
  • The mains connection to which the radiant heater is connected must comply with the applicable local standards and be installed in accordance with regulations. It must have an earth connection and the radiant heater must be connected to it.
  • A residual current circuit breaker with a tripping current of 30 mA must be connected upstream of the heater.
  • The appliance must not be used without the built-in protective grille, which protects the heating element.
  • Never touch an electrical appliance if your hands are wet or if you are barefoot.
  • The radiant heater becomes very hot during operation. Never touch it during operation or shortly after switching it off. Allow the heater to cool down sufficiently before touching it.
  • Never come closer than 50 cm to the heater in the radiation area. Risk of burns!
  • Do not look directly into the heater for long periods of time if you are not at least 2.7 m away from it.
  • All users must be informed about the operation and safety of the appliance. The instructions supplied with the appliance must be kept for reference.
  • If you use the heater on a stand, it must be operated on a level, stable surface. Never place a stand on tables or similar objects.
  • Route the mains cable so that it does not pose a tripping hazard. Do not run the cable over sharp edges and never crush the cable.
  • Never use the appliance in places where it could fall or be pushed into water.
  • If smoke develops during operation, always disconnect the power supply. If you are unable to determine and eliminate the cause, contact the manufacturer, its customer service or a suitably qualified person.
  • Always switch off the radiant heater after use and disconnect the power supply.
  • Never immerse an electrical appliance in water or other liquids.
  • Do not expose the radiant heater to harmful environmental influences (direct, heavy rain, strong sunlight, etc.).
  • Maintenance must be carried out once a year. Check that the fastenings are secure. Check the mains cable and the heater for visible damage. If the mains cable or protective grille are damaged, take the radiant heater out of operation. Contact the manufacturer, its customer service or a suitably qualified person.
  • The infrared heating element, which is available as a spare part, may only be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service or a similarly qualified person.
