Sizing ceiling fans
The following diagram gives you an indication of which fan size is the right one for your individual room. The specifications apply to square rooms with the corresponding room height. Long, tubular rooms should be divided into several squares, as each ceiling fan has a round effective area. For example, a room 10 meters long and 4 meters wide should be divided into 2 areas á 4 x 4 m (16m²). If the room height is 2.5 meters, use the diagram to choose 2 ceiling fans with a diameter of 103 cm or 120 cm to ensure proper ventilation.
The data apply for a uniform, draft-free ventilation of living and Büroräumen and make possible both a high air velocity in the Büroräumen and a high air flow rate in the Büroräumen; The air velocity control system enables both high air velocity in summer (cooling) and low air velocity in winter (warm-air-cooling). It is essential to provide a speed control (step-pull switch, wall-step-switch, remote-control, step-transformer).
Larger diameters than those listed above can be used without hesitation as long as they have one of the listed speed control options.
